High-Five World Record to be Set in Portland?

A Portland organization is aiming to set the world record for most consecutive high-fives.

Socialization Transition Reflection Innovation Vocation Education, or STRIVE is looking to get 5,000 'one-handed, high-speed, over-the-head, palm-to-palm collisions.' The date is set for Friday's Portland Sea Dogs game at 7PM at Headlock Field.

In the third inning Sea Dog mascot, Slugger will show the crowd the proper high-five technique. The crowd will then have five second to attempt the record. Great Moose Arial Art will circle over the field to provide a time stamped video of the attempt as evidence for the Guinness World Record folks.

The results could take two to three months to verify.

STRIVE is an organization the provides programs for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities. $3 of the ticket price to the game goes to STRIVE for operation costs, events and funding their many programs.

The current record is 4,699.
