Tonight’s featured artists had a hit song that most assume was inspired by Mark Twain’s  ‘Tom Sawyer’ and no it isn’t Rush’s  ‘Tom Sawyer’,  any other guesses??

The hit is singing about the Mississippi River, Written by  Patrick Simmons, who is the Doobie Brothers guitarist, wrote this song and sang lead. He said  It continued the Louisiana-swamp rock feel of earlier Doobie Brothers songs like ‘Toulouse Street’ and ‘Black Eyed Cajun Woman’ with lyrics likely inspired by Mark Twain's books Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer, which depicted life on the "Black Water."
