I-95 Drive Home Featured Artists

Tonight’s features artists wrote one of their biggest hits from a prank played on them by some truckers while they were on tour.

The band is Bachman-Turner Overdrive and the song inspired, sort of, by the truckers was ’Let It Ride’ .

The story as Randy Bachman tells  it: They were on tour, driving along a highway in the US when a few truckers decided to have some fun with the band, who were riding in the little van from Canada. The truckers boxed them in and slowed down to a crawl. When they finally turned into a truck-stop the band followed them with the intent to give them a good talking to. Unfortunately, to quote Randy Bachman, "The trucker looked like a Volkswagen with a head." The truckers had a good laugh and told the band that they needed to learn to "Let It Ride." The song was written that night.
