It's March Bandness and tonight we're pitting Bob Seger against Lynyrd Skynyrd, So who is who? Our first band had no backing from a production company in their early days and according to its leader it was because they wanted to call their own shots and not owe anybody, meanwhile our other band was booed off stage in one of their early stage performances while opening for another act. Guesses??

So, the guy who wanted things his own way? That would be Bob Seger. In an interview done back in 1976 Bob was asked how was it he had 10 albums and yet the band was still relatively obscure. His answer, with the help of production companies he’s seen a lot of bands rise quickly and then fall just as fast because once you are beholding to a record company they want to tell you what to do and he didn’t want that. That makes our our boo hiss boys a young Lynyrd Skynyrd. According to members Gary Rossington and Randall Hall back in 1967 when they were opening for the Monkees they were booed off stage by a bunch of teeny boppers. Undaunted when they came back to the same venue the following year once on stage they told the audience if they wanted to boo again at least try to do it on key. Who will take the day and go on to the March Bandness
