Tonight’s mystery artists in an interview with Charlie Rose  described their music as mutilated the blues while another member said in their heyday he didn’t really like huge venues because the music lost its subtlety. Think you know who they might be??

The interview was done back in 2012 shortly after the Kennedy Honors for Led Zeppelin. It was Robert Plant who said that when Zeppelin came along they mutilated the (American) blues and twisted it upside down. Jimmy Page said that their music had more colors and textures and moods on it than any other music of the day. Later on as their success grew John Paul Jones remarked that he was not a fan the bigger and bigger venues because you lost a lot of the subtlety of the band. And one thing they all agreed on it that the first time they heard John Bonham play the drums they felt something they never had before. In their night at Kennedy Center honors Jack Described they with three simple words “Best Band Ever”
