Tonight's artist's boss had accepted a job singing in another band and was disbanding his own group leaving our mystery artist staring down unemployment. However, another band leader gave him a call offering a 4 year gig that would last for 30. Any guesses who he was or the band that scooped him up?

It was back in 1985 that Sammy Hagar had just taken a job as frontman for Van Halen leaving his guitarist Gary Pihl looking for a job but not for long. According to an interview with Trirdstage.ca Gary tells it like this: “We were playing Farm Aid 1, Sammy was leaving to go to Van Halen and I thought I would be unemployed. Well, that didn't last long as I got a call from Tom Scholz to come to Boston and play on the final track, "I Think I Like It", for the 3rd LP. He offered me a 4 year gig from the door that ended up turning into 30 years. This was a dream come true for me going back to that day when I heard "More Than A Feeling" for the first time.”
