Tonight’s mystery artist told Rock Cellar Magazine that he was fired from opening for the Rolling Stones because he was setting the bar to high.

Hard for me to even imagine Eddie Money opening for Mick and the boys but that is how he tells it.  The story told by Eddie to the magazine went like this,

“I got fired off the Rolling Stones tour. I was supposed to do eight dates with them, I wound up doing five or six. I got fired off the Stones tour for getting too many encores. They told me, “Mick really loves the show and stuff like that but he’s getting old, he’s a little tired.” They said Mick didn’t want to work that hard. “ He added , “So I got thrown off the Stones tour for being too good!”

Seemed like an unlikely pair but after looking into it some very different bands have opened for the Stones From Eddie Money to Cheech and Chong. Guess in 50 years you can give everybody a chance.

Here is one of Eddie’s biggest hits.
