Tonight’s mystery artist recently gave Rolling Stone the titles of the five songs he wished he'd written. See if you can look at them and guess who he might be. The songs are: ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ , ‘Red Flag’, ‘Teenagers’, ‘Dude (Looks Like A Lady)’ and ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ Think you’ve got his number??

Too funny really when the Magazine caught up with the Detroit native not only did he know which five he wished he’d written but he even told them why. Here are the songs again and the reasons Alice Cooper gave for wishing they were his.

  1. "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister. Cooper says "This has the same melody as "O Come, All Ye Faithful." It was a bull's-eye for the PMRC thing that was happening then."
  2. "Red Flag" by Billy Talent. Cooper says "These guys were Canada's Green Day. This song reminds me of "My Sharona." It's one of those hooks you can't explain."
  3. "Teenagers" by My Chemical Romance. Cooper says "I looked at this band as the next Def Leppard. This song has a great message: "Teenagers are dangerous!"
  4. "Dude (Looks Like
a Lady)" by Aerosmith. Cooper says "They wrote this about Vince Neil. Mötley Crüe were a bunch of good-looking girls then. They aren't so cute anymore."
  5. "Smells like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana. "Had I been born later, I could have written this. But when you're my age, you can't write for teens. When I first heard it, I was like, "Oh, yeah!"

So to honor Alice tonight’s featured song is Dude (Looks Like A Lady) cause he kind of does.

Looky what I found...
