This information came from a trailer for a film about the band that was released in 2014 called ‘Kansas – Miracles Out Of Nowhere’  In the film it is  who tells of a guitar exercise that turned into ‘Dust In The Wind’ Kerry Livgren says it really started out a  guitar exercise before morphing into what would be their biggest chart single.

‘Kansas – Miracles Out Of Nowhere’ looks to be an interesting film and covers everything from the forming of the band to their naïveté that had them signing way 30 million albums worth of publishing.
