Tonight’s mystery artist had one album that Rolling Stone dubbed the worst rock album ever made but tonight’s artist says it wasn’t his fault.  Think you know what the album was or who our Teflon rocker might be??

This revelation comes to us from a CBS This Morning interview with rocker John Fogerty after his memoir Fortunate Son was released.

In the interview he tells how the hit song "Proud Mary" transformed Fogerty and his bandmates from struggling musicians to superstars almost overnight.  Fogerty quickly followed up with a remarkable string of hits that would become music classics--like "Bad Moon Rising," "Down on the Corner," and "Fortunate Son"--and resonate across generations. The band produced three hit albums in 1969 alone.

So what was the loathed album and how did that happen? According to the interview, “Lead vocalist Tom Fogerty left to pursue a solo career out from under his younger brother John's shadow, while bassist Stu Cook and drummer Doug Clifford demanded more creative control. “ John Fogerty said, "They now wanted to write songs and sing the songs they wrote and arrange the songs, either it was going to be this way or we were going to fall apart right here. So I agreed."

Cook and Clifford went on to say Fogerty sabotaged the album, forcing them to write. When "Mardi Gras" was released, a Rolling Stone reviewed called it "the worst album I have ever heard from a major rock band." Creedence never made another record. End of story.   It would be 10 years before John would launch his new career.

Here is tonight's featured song is played at many a baseball field, was featured at the baseball hall of fame and according to John , Jackie Robinson is the brown eyed handsome man. And the baseball bat shaped guitar he only uses for this song seen here in this video he intends to donate to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
