Tonight’s mystery artist performed on American Bandstand and told Dick Clark that Chuck Berry was one of his inspirations along with the Rolling Stones and that usually he only performed during the winter months but made an exception for American Bandstand.  Think you know who this young man was or why he needed to take summers off??

The year was 1981 and a young George Thorogood had made an exception to take a break from his baseball career with the semi-pro baseball team the Delaware Destroyers to play for an afternoon at The American Bandstand. A lover of the blues don’t you know he also mentions as his inspirations Hound dog Taylor, John Lee Hooker and Dick Clark (Way to suck up George)
