Tonight’s mystery artists have a song that has woven itself into our pop culture including the video game guitar hero, 2 movies, a Toyota commercial and even an episode of the Simpson. Can you guess the tune or possibly the band??
According to Wikipedia this popular little ditty was first released back in 1977 by a band that although they hail from England they formed in New York City with only one American member by the name of Lou Gramm. The song was released as a single from their self-titled album 'Foreigner' with the B-side of "Oh Woman, Oh Woman" ( no worries, I don’t remember it either). The A side which would climb all the way to # 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts before spinning its way into our culture was "Feels Like the First Time" written by Mick Jones.

Its pop culture history goes something like this:

The song was re-recorded to be included in the rhythm game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. It also was used at the end of 2012 movie Magic Mike and it was used during the Riff Medley by the Treblemakers in the 2012 movie Pitch Perfect. On television you heard it in a 2014 commercial for Toyota and then again in the pilot episode of the TV show Wicked City. Lastly the song was used in The Simpsons episode ‘What to Expect When Bart's Expecting’ when Homer flashes back to when he first met the horse Sudsley Brewright, who first introduced him to Duff beer.
Now in case you missed them in Portland and don’t want to wait until they get back to Hampton Beach on July 27th here they are performing live right here. Sit back as we enter Mr. Whoopie's time machine...
