Tonight’s mystery picked up his first guitar at age 3 pretending to play and sing like a singing cowboy and Jimmy on the Micky Mouse Club. Can you guess who he grew up to play with??

Well these days he plays with a group called ‘The Empty Hearts' and before that he was with a band called Creedence Clearwater Revisted but you will most likely hear him on I95  playing lead guitar for The Cars. His name is Elliot Eastman.  As lead guitarist for 18 years with The Cars. Elliot has sold over 30 million records worldwide. Well respected in the guitar community, Elliot’s reputation is that of a tasteful musician with a knack for coming up with memorable solos, great tones and an uncanny ear for creating “hooks” on pop records.

While touring with CCR he was interviewed by Gretsch Headline News back in May of 2002 when he revealed to them:

“I’ve had a guitar since the age of 3. It came about because the influence of all the singing cowboys. In 1956 I was 3 years old and I loved cowboys and they all played guitar and sang, and I also saw Elvis on TV. Last but not least it was the Mickey Mouse Club Show, the head Mousketeer, Jimmy Dodd played the mouse guitar. It was a guitar in the shape of Mickey Mouse’s face.”

And play he did although as a lefty he flipped the guitar over and eventually restrung it and taught himself how to play.
