Tonight’s mystery artists are a self-described Rock and Roll orchestra. Can you guess who they might be??

Tonight’s band set down with Red Beard for ‘Into the Studio’ for the 30th  anniversary of their album Frontiers. In the start of their interview not only do Steve Perry and Neal Schon refer to the band as a Rock and Roll Orchestra but they add the not many bands out there could soar and play complex music to pull off the sound they were making. Calling Frontiers probably their most ambitious album ever. However, as keyboard player Jonathan Cain tells every success had a personal price. Red Beard describes the band and interview thus:

The skyrocketing album, merchandise,  and concert ticket sales were obvious, but  far less apparent were the exceedingly high musical standards to which any new members, such as ex-Babys keyboard player/songwriter Jonathan Cain, would be held. Cain, band co-founder/guitarist Neal Schon, and former singer Steve Perry reveal considerable personal pathos during the Big Payday provided by “Separate Ways”, “Faithfully”, ”Send Her My Love”,”Chain Reaction”,”After the Fall”, & two more which were inexplicably bumped off of Frontiers, “Only the Young” and “Ask the Lonely”.
