Tonight’s mystery artist have opened for the Kinks and Queen but say it was AC/DC that really challenged them to play better.  Can you guess who they might be?

I found this interesting little ditty on Rolling Stone's 16 Things you never knew about Cheap Trick. At the height of their popularity in the 70’s they fronted many an iconic band the likes of KISS, Thin Lizzy, Queen, The Kinks and AC/DC whose musical and performance chops forced them to up their game. Members of the band said:

"When we toured with AC/DC, we always had to bring our A game," says Nielsen. "They really felt like our equals." Adds Zander: "At the time we were almost equally unsuccessful, playing dumps all over the world. Playing with those guys is some of the fondest memories that I have."
