Tonight’s mystery artist has a hit single on his self-titled album that is sung by someone else.  Any guess who he might be or the song??

Let’s start with the album and artist, that would beTed Nugent and the song is "Stranglehold". The song is the first track on Nugent’s self-titled album from 1975. So who is singing? Lead vocals were done by Derek St Holmes with the exception of the line "Sometimes you wanna get higher" verse is sung by Ted. And there is more sharing of credit to the song, in Martin Popoff's book, "Epic Ted Nugent", Nugent admits that the song "Stranglehold" was co-written by Rob Grange, yet he never received a share for co-writer. "Stranglehold" would set the stage for Nugent's career, a guitar-driven track over eight minutes long - its famous guitar solo having been recorded in a single take.
