Tonight's Mystery artist was praised as his original bands unsung heroes by critics and went on after their breakup to be part of Credence Clearwater Revisited.  Any idea who he might be or his original band??

We’ll start with the unsung part.  Wikipedia quotes Jaime Welton, author of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die, as saying The Cars ‘Bye Bye Love’ is a "fan favorite" and he praises lead guitarist and backup singer Elliot Easton as an "unsung hero, littering songs like that and other Cars hits with staggeringly good fills." A native New Yorker,  Elliot Easton played lead guitar and sang backing vocals for The Cars until their break up in 1988. He studied music at Berkley. Easton is a left-handed guitarist who after The Cars  broke up  was part of ‘The New Cars’ and ‘Creedence Clearwater Revisited’. Currently he is playing with the band called ‘Empty Hearts’
