Tonight’s mystery artist says that he never listens to music he isn’t actively making. Think you know who he is or who he plays with??

This interesting information comes from Billboard Magazine’s interview with Eddie Van Halen

According to the article he is quoted as saying unequivocally “I don’t listen to anything,”

Not even old Van Halen albums. Eddie says the last album he bought was Peter Gabriel in 1986. He goes on to say that newer bands are a mystery to him and he doesn’t even turn on the radio in the car much to his wife’s displeasure. He sheepishly admitted that he never even listened to most of the bands that opened for Van Halen and worried, “Does that make me an asshole?” The one thing he will turn on once and a while?? Yo-Yo Ma because he loves the sound of the cello. But even that is rare.
