Tonight’s mystery artist said his dad who passed away when he was 10 years old. He found out after he asked for a drum set that his dad had been a drummer too.  He feels that because of that he came by playing quite naturally.  Can you guess who he might be or the band you know him best with?

This bit of pre-destiny came out in an interview with Des Tong and ELO drummer Bev Bevan. Bev was named for his drummer father. He says that music was not a focus for him until  he heard Elvis and Ray Charles.  One of his favorite moments playing in a band was opening for the Beatles with the band 'Denny Lane and the Diplomats' back in the late 50. Bev says that also opened for the Rolling Stones. He played with several bands after that including a charting band called 'The Move' at the same time he had a hit with ELO. Those were definitely great days but for us his best time was playing with Jeff Lynne and ELO.

Since that he has done everything from hosting a radio show in England and filling in as  drummer with Black Sabbath. Quite a career.
