I found this little known fact and very rare contract in an Axs article covering 5 things you may not know about John Mellencamp. The magazine writes how back in May of 2014 Republic Records offered the unusual contract to John while he was producing ‘Plain Spoken’. The company’s reasons cited for the unusual offer was because they consider him to be an ambassador of social conscience of America and the sound track of a generation. Who would argue with that?
