Tonight’s mystery artist although considered to be part of the British invasion the band’s name sake actually originally hailed from South Africa. Think you know who he might be or the band he founded??

This biography was found on Sussle about Manfred Mann’s Earth Band. Best known for their cover of the Springsteen songs ‘For You’ & blinded by the Light’ The band started out as part of the British Invasion  with their hits ‘Mighty Quinn’ and ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’.  Our South African musician who got the ball rolling back in 1971 was none other than Manfred Mann himself. Raised in a Jewish household in Johannesburg  he was also part of South Africa’s first Rock and Roll Band.
