Tonight’s mystery artists had a album cover designed by a firm that had done covers for the likes of Pink Floyd. Def Leppard and Led Zeppelin and yet one member of this band hated the cover that they did for them. Think you know who it is or the album??

Axs tell this story that may have been some sour grapes for lead singer Dennis DeYoung about the artwork for ‘Pieces of Eight’. Along with the cover he expressed disappointment in his contributions to the album. For the most part he said he liked it ok.  And the very high profile firm that did the cover? That would be the English company called Hipgnosis.  They have also done covers for AC/DC and Genesis.

Here is the Hipgnosis gallery. Literally they have created some of the most iconic album covers of all time.
