I-95 Drive Home Mystery Artist [VIDEO]

Tonight’s mystery artist was so insecure of his chance of making it even after he recorded his first album he went back to his regular job. Think you know who he is or his band??

I found this very responsible fact in a PBS profile of Tom Sholtz of Boston.  Turn out that even after the popularity of his debut album he still went back to work at Polaroid.  And it didn’t stop there when he set out on his first tour he took a leave of absence and Tom says of that decision,

“I had no expectations of success whatsoever”

Add to that his boss at Polaroid agreed with him that it was a one in a million shot. It would be a full three years later when he finally quit his job there and Tom would remind his boss of the comment as he packed his boxes.
