Tonight’s mystery artists told Vanity Fair back in 2012 they could see a movie that featured only their music kind of like the rock opera movie ‘Rock of Ages’. Think you know who they might be??

Turns out they made be thinking this way because one of their songs was featured in the ‘Rock of Ages’ movie  and shortly after the soundtrack is was on reached #5 on the Billlboard Hot 200. The  song on the soundtrack? That would be Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is”. During the Vanity Far interview it was Mick Jones who could foresee a movie featuring nothing but Foreigner hits.  And since the “Jukebox Hero” stage musical is kicking off his year he may just be right.

Some of the other songs by different group on the soundtrack include:

  • More Than Words
  • Sister Christian
  • Wanted Dead Or Alive
  • Every Rose Has Its Thorn
  • Rock You Like A Hurricane
  • We Built This City
  • See Full List

Mick went on in the chat saying how he thinks ‘Hot Blooded’ would have been a good choice to be in ‘Rock of Ages’. Plus he reveals how the band is a little more sedate now that they are older but that back in the day Foreigner and Lynyrd Skynyrd trashed a hotel room throwing the bathroom sink out a window.  Classy.

Here is tonight's featured song.
