Tonight’s mystery artists had a hit that was actually comprised from a combination of individual band members material that had been scrapped.  Can you guess the group or song?

I found this tale of the tapes (literally) on Wikipedia about the Fleetwood Mac song ‘The Chain’.  I call it a tale of the tapes because the band actually hire engineers Ken Calliat and Richard Dashnut to splice the various songs together to make the final cut.   "The Chain" is from Fleetwood Mac’s bestselling album Rumours is the only song from the album credited to all five members.

Story goes the song was created from combinations of several previously rejected materials, including solo work by Buckingham, Nicks and Christine McVie. It was assembled, often manually by splicing tapes with a razor blade.

Here is tonight's featured song.
