Tonight’s mystery artist says that he is planning to continue to perform live now that he is in his seventies and hopes that folks won’t view him as just a curiosity because he confesses that he is a little shocked to still be doing this himself.  Think you know who our self proclaimed oddity might be??

I found this odd self view in Rolling Stone when they interviewed Eric Clapton. Much of Eric’s amazement at his own decision to continue going out on the road are his deafness, tinnitus and stiffness in his hands.

Eric’s direct quote:

‘I’m hoping that people will come along and see me just because, or maybe more than because I’m a curiosity. I know that is part of it, because it’s amazing to myself I’m still here.”

This month Eric Clapton was honored to be one of the first stars on the Royal Albert Hall's Walk of Fame. Since December 1964, he has played at the London venue more than 200 times. Here he is with tonight's featured song at 70.  You'll notice that since kicking the drug habit many years ago in performances now he refers to it as "Dirty Cocaine"
