Tonight’s mystery artist’s kicked Sammy Hagar as opening act on their tour because he used bad language. Think you know who these proper musicians were?

I found this interesting little piece of history on Gibson’s site about the band KISS. Gibson describes them as

“masters of marketing and self-mythology”

So think about it, back in the 70’s they were showing up on Scooby Doo and Christmas Specials so they were most definitely looking to appeal to a younger audience and have at least a somewhat more wholesome image. This I imagine is why instead of showing Sammy the swear jar they showed him the door. They were already getting a lot of heat for the makeup and studs from many during that time.
