Tonight’s mystery artists created a song with what they now call ‘groove’.  Joe Perry of Aerosmith was quoted as saying “the song is so laid back it sucks you in".  Can you guess the song or who was chill enough to write it??

Our groovy tune in this instance is ‘Tumbling Dice’ written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. So what makes the style considered laid back? Wikipedia sites its irregular structure saying,

While many songs have the same number of lines for the verse or chorus, Tumbling Dice first chorus has two lines, the second chorus has three, and the third chorus has twelve lines. At the beginning of every chorus, the piano, bass and drums drop out and the backing vocals sing "you got to roll me"

In addition to that, the drums are so unusual in this song the Stones had to bring in another drummer named Jimmy Page to finish the song, making this the only Stone’s tune where Charlie is overdubbed by another drummer. And tempo of the song is not only variable but can be a bit of a bone of contention between Richards who likes it laid back and Jagger who wants to speed it up in live performances.

Let's give it a go and get groovy.
