This Monday marks the 152nd anniversary of the freeing of African slaves in America, and James Varner, President of the Maine Human Rights Coalition, stopped by our studio to tell us about a special event going on in the area.

It's called the Annual Juneteenth Celebration and it's happening at Joshua Chamberlain Park in Brewer, this Monday the 19th, between 12 noon and 1:30PM.  It's an event to undo racism and discrimination in America, and it's free and open to the public.

Watch Mr. Varner tell you all about it in this video recorded here in Brewer.

Peace.
