It’s Just a Drill!

Most folks today have become familiar with the phrase, “If you see something, say something.”

Today, if you live in certain areas of the state, you may see something, but officials say it’s just a drill.

State Police and Maine Emergency Management officials say the statewide exercise Vigilant Guard kicks off today.

The training scenario is based on Maine dealing with the aftermath of a severe ice storm, followed by a blizzard. Now that sounds like Maine weather!

Today, agencies will respond to simulated emergencies in Calais, Augusta and the University of Maine’s Orono campus.

If you live in these areas you may see emergency response or military vehicles, and uniformed responders.

This is only a test!
