BIG sold out concert this Saturday night here in Bangor, and one of my favorite bands is coming back to town for it!

The Boston based J. Geils Band will open for Bob Seger this Saturday night at the Cross Insurance Center!

I grew up in the Springfield, Massachusetts area in the 70s, and of course the J. Geils Band was heard regularly blaring out of the speakers in my Dodge Super Bee!

I've seen them four times now and just can't get enough!  I think the best performance I ever saw them do was at the University Of Maine Field House around the time that "Centerfold" came out!

In a recent interview with the Bangor Daily News, Peter Wolf, lead singer for J. Geils was asked if he had any sort of rituals that he goes through before a concert, he said, "I put on James Brown’s “Live at the Apollo, Vol. 1,” then I try to fill the dressing room up with the most beautiful ladies I can find. That inspires me to boogaloo."

What's my favorite songs performed live by J. Geils?  "Ain't Nothing But A House Party," "Whammer Jammer," and "Southside Shuffle!"

So let's put on our dancin' shoes and get ready to increase our "boogaloo factor" with these great songs! "Let me hear ya Dickey!"
