This past Sunday night at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, legendary guitarist Jeff Beck played a show, and Portland rock photog James Pappaconstantine was there.

Jeff Beck is probably rocks ruling guitarist, at 70 years old he still has what it takes.  From a review of Sunday night's show in the Boston Herald, columnist Bill Brotherton said, "Some would argue that Clapton,  Page and Richards are his equals. Hogwash. Clapton lost the fire long ago, Page seldom tours and Richards goes through the motions as the Stones play one ginormous stadium after another. Nope, Beck stands alone."

Jeff Beck has always been one of my favorites! Back in the seventies I wore out my copy of "Blow By Blow." I would have loved to have been at the Orpheum to hear his covers of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and the Beatles "A Day In The LIfe."

Of course Beck plays mainly instrumentals, so it must have been a special thrill when former Wet Willie vocalist Jimmy Hall came out and sang with Beck.  In the Boston Herald review it was said that "Beck appears to be having the time of his life. He smiled frequently and clapped as his bandmates shined."
