You know sometimes when you look at successful people you kind of assume that is somehow came easy.  Yet the longer I live and the more I learn about other people's journeys in this life is that everyone with few exceptions has hard times and self-doubt.  In this commencement speech at Iowa's Maharishi University of Management Saturday Jim Carrey talks about something he learned watching his father make choices about his own life and how it changed the chances he was willing to take in his own life and the courage that it instilled in him to try. If you need encouragement to step out today and try something that seems a far reach for you watch this short clip of his speech and see if you aren't emboldened to give it a go.

My favorite quotes:

“You can spend your life imagining ghosts or worrying about the pathway to the future but all there will ever be is what is happening here and the decisions we make in this moment  which are based in either love or fear.  So many of us choose our path out of fear disguised as practicality, what we really want seems impossible out of reach and ridiculous to expect” and "I learned many great lessons from my father, not the least of which was that you could fail at what you don't love, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love."
