Justin Bieber has officially topped Elton John with the highest certified single in music history.

Pop star Justin Bieber's 2010 tune 'Baby' has gone 12-times platinum, topping Elton's 1997 single 'Candle in the Wind.' 'Candle in the Wind' was 11-times platinum.

Industry experts say the change is likely because of Billboard factoring Youtube hits when calculating rankings. Bieber's 'Baby' has sold 33 million copies and has over 859 million views on Youtube.

It's too bad Billboard doesn't factor in creativity...let's compare lyrics!

Elton John's 'Candle in the Wind':

'And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did.'

Justin Bieber's 'Baby':

'And I was like...
Baby, baby, baby oooh
Like baby, baby, baby nooo
Like baby, baby, baby oooh
I thought you'd always be mine.'

Powerful lyrics Biebs...powerful...very moving and touching.
