Mother Nature has claimed another win over a scheduled event.  First is was the Portland Seadogs and now the snowy and cold weather coupled with icy conditions in Kenduskeag Stream have forced the postponement of this year’s Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race.

BDN reported, race director Tracy Willette, of the Bangor Parks and Recreation Department said the race, which was scheduled for Saturday, April 18, will instead be held on April 25.

April 25 will mark the 49th time this race has been run in Kenduskeag/Bangor. One of the most popular events held in the state it regularly boasts hundreds of boats and nearly 1,000 paddlers. The course covers about 16 miles from Kenduskeag village to downtown Bangor.
