The Freedom to Rock Tour hit Portland with a vengeance last night as the Dead Daisies and Kiss blew up the stage!

The crowd at the Cross Insurance Arena was treated to the hard rockin' and very loud sound of the Dead Daisies as the band hit the stage right at 7:30 for an hour long set. The Daisies drew songs from their first and brand new albums including Mexico and the crowd favorite Make Some Noise.  They also covered The Who's Join Together, CCR's Fortunate Son and the Beatles' Helter Skelter.

"The Hottest Band In The World" hit the stage the stage with massive explosions and pyrotechnics right at 9 p.m. kickin' off the show with Detroit Rock City!  Highlights of the show included Paul Stanley flying across the crowd to a stage in the back of the arena to sing Love Gun.

The mayor of Portland and numerous military members joining the band onstage for a presentation of the key to the city to the band and the Pledge of Allegiance.

The final song, Rock And Roll All Nite, saw the crowd covered in confetti as all members of the band were high above the crowd, standing on stages that were elevated in different directions across the arena, while smoke from a massive fireworks display filled the venue!  It was a pure rock 'n roll spectacle!

At one point during the show Paul Stanley informed the crowd that there wasn't anyone backstage playing instruments for the band, that there wasn't any recorded music tracks that were playing while the band played, and there wasn't any lip syncing going on, that this was a "real rock and roll band."  We'd have to agree.
