Kiss Unveil Two New Tracks from ‘Monster’
Kiss are a little less than a week away from releasing their highly anticipated ‘Monster‘ album, and they’re giving fans two more tracks — ‘Long Way Down’ and ‘All for the Love of Rock & Roll’ — to chew on before the disc drops in stores on Oct. 9.
The group issued ‘Hell or Hallelujah‘ to keep fans satisfied over the summer months, and keep the energy alive with these two new releases. Both ‘Long Way Down’ and ‘All for the Love of Rock & Roll’ fit right in with the band’s promise that ‘Monster’ is going to be “a 12-track straight-ahead rock ‘n’ roll album.”
‘Long Way Down’ puts the emphasis on the guitar work as it alternates between chugging and driving stylistic shifts to deliver some solid ear candy that will stick with the listener. The lyrical content warns the listener not to get too comfortable with success: “It’s a long way down / When the ground starts coming / I tried to tell you, but you would not listen / It’s a long way when you fall from the top.” But with this song, it’s clear that Kiss won’t be falling anywhere anytime soon.
The second track, ‘All for the Love of Rock & Roll,’ has a great percussive sound provided by Eric Singer, who also sings, and is more of a good time rock song. The infectious lyrics go: “It’s all for the love of rock and roll / Hear my music in the air and I’m losing control / I don’t care what you heard, I don’t care what you do / Cause it’s all for the love of rock and roll.” It’s destined to be a future live favorite.
‘Monster’ arrives in stores Oct. 9. Listen to the two new tracks below.
