The Bangor Waterfront will turn pink this Sunday as people of all ages turn out for the Komen Race For the Cure. Get signed up today and show your support for breast cancer survivors, patients, and research!

If you've never taken part in this amazing event, I encourage you to do it. There's such an amazing feeling of love and support at the event, that the laughter and smiles are contagious. People greet each other with hugs and rally around the women in pink.

And, oh, those women in pink. They are the breast cancer survivors. During the survivor's ceremony, they gather together in a group to celebrate their victory. The rest of the participants cheer and applaud even as they wipe tears from their eyes. It's an incredible moment that has to be seen to be appreciated.

I took part in the race a few years ago, in support of our friend and coworker, MaryEllen Warman. She was one of the most amazing women I've ever known who dealt with her breast cancer with her signature strength and style. I miss her laugh every day.

Whether you know someone who has been touched by breast cancer or not, the event will leave you feeling wonderful, fulfilled, and amazing. I hope you'll consider signing up. And you can do that on the Komen Maine Race for the Cure website. Do it today!
