Brian McCann nearly outhit the entire Red Sox lineup in helping the Yankees beat Boston 5-1 Wednesday night.McCann had four hits on the night including a 2-run homer in the bottom of the second inning to give New York a lead they would never lose. Brett Gardner added two hits and an rbi for the Yanks who also got great pitching from Hiroki Kuroda. The Sox could only come up with 6 hits and struck out 8 times against Kuroda who earned his 10th win of the season.

Brock Holt's rbi double in the 6th inning provided the only scoring for Boston. Daniel Nava had 2 hits and was the only player in the Sox lineup to have multiple hits.

Brandon Workman takes the mound in the series finale tonight against former Red Sox Chris Capuano.
