One of our local gems for a museum has got to be Leonard's Mill. With a very active group of volunteers this museum grows and changes constantly adding and sprucing up exhibits of all kinds.  Last time I was there the working Lombard was lumbering around the grounds for all to see and enjoy.

That said their Living History Days weekend really kicks it up a notch  with demonstrations from 1790s re-enactors, machinery, mills, 20th Maine Civil War encampment, steam Lombard running, the cedar shake mill in action and much, much more!
Parking is available right there at the Maine Forest and Logging Museum on site and tickets are $10 adults $5 children. Need directions? Click here

Look out if you're not careful you'll learn something:)
