Two local men have been charged with robbery in connection with a January home invasion on Warren Hill Road in Palmyra.

Sean Ludden, 47, of Clinton and Matthew Almeida, 30, of Pittsfield are accused of forcing their way into the home on Jan. 28, state police said in a Wednesday news release.

The men, who were dressed in camouflage and wearing masks at the time of the incident, assaulted a male homeowner and took an undisclosed amount of cash and prescription drugs, police said.

State police investigators Blake Conrad and Reid Bond were assigned to the case and have conducted numerous interviews since the robbery occurred.

Ludden was charged last week with the Palmyra home invasion. He was already serving time in the Somerset County Jail for drug trafficking.

Almeida was taken into custody without incident Wednesday afternoon at the Dexter Police Department. Police said he was being held on $20,000 bail.

The release said additional suspects have been identified and more charges are pending.
