As a person who walks on our city streets a great deal it is nice to see the Maine DOT is looking to get the community involved in ways to keep those we love safer.

These ongoing forums have been held all over the state and  in July and August Bangor and Orono residents will have their turn to brainstorm ways to make the roads safe for everyone.

During these events the Maine DOT, Bike Coalition and residents will delve into the risky behaviors and attitudes of both drivers and pedestrians. Together they hope to explore possible strategies to help make the streets safer.

Bangor's forum will be held at Bangor City Hall on July 18th from 6 - 8 PM and Orono 's will be August 15th at 6 PM
