A few years back I went through Penquis Cap and had an efficiency audit done on my home to take advantage of the many rebates the state of Maine offers towards increasing our homes efficiency, and it was great. However, were all these incentives enough to make most Mainers run efficient homes?

That is where the group at WalletHub.com comes into the picture.  They asked the same question in a recent study they examining how energy efficient we are in forty-eight U.S. states excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Along with homes they also looked at the energy ratings for our cars to come up with their rankings.

Kudos, must go out to Efficiency Maine for this one I think because Maine came in 13th, ranking 5th in home energy efficiency and 41st in car energy efficiency. So I guess we need to look into some incentives for buying more fuel efficient cars.

New York came in first and South Carolina was last.

Want to look into ways here in Maine you can be more efficient  and save yourself some money? Right now Efficiency Maine can show you how to save $800.00 when you install a new heat pump plus incentives for buying a more energy efficient washing machines and more. Cha Ching!
