In a little over a week we've experienced three significant snowfalls in our area.  Some of the amounts are staggering!  76 inches in Eastport, 37 inches in Ellsworth!

If you've been shoveling or blowing snow you're probably running out of places to put it!  Everything including the neighbor's cat is probably still buried out there.

One thing that you can do to make your neighborhood a safer place is to keep the fire hydrants clear of any snow!

Yes, the municipalities are mainly responsible for this, but in these wintery conditions EVERYONE can lend a helping hand!

So, grab that shovel and spend another five minutes out on the tundra and clear the snow away from the fire hydrant, you may be extremely glad that you did. The neighborhood dogs will be happy too.

By the way, did I mention another 4 to 7 inches are expected throughout Thursday?
