If you live in Bangor or Brewer, you may get a knock on your door the next couple of Saturdays from volunteers representing the Maine Red Cross.  Don't worry though, they just want to make sure that you're safe from fire.

Bangor and Brewer Red Cross teams will be speaking with residents about fire safety,  Important stuff like emergency escape plans and working smoke alarms!

If they find that a family is without a working smoke alarm, then they will offer to install a battery operated alarm for free! Pretty good deal.

The Bangor team will train this Saturday morning between 8 and 10AM, in Bangor at the Housing Authority at 161 Davis Road, and then next Saturday the 10th, the Brewer team will train between 8 and 10AM at the Brewer Fire Station on Parkway South.

This Saturday, October 3rd, the Bangor team will walk through the neighborhoods of Martel, Praise and Holiday Mobile Home Parks.  Next Saturday, the 10th, the Brewer team will canvass neighborhoods in South Brewer.
