Police and Game Wardens continue to search for a man wanted for murder in connection with the death of his former girlfriend. After a stolen truck was found stuck in the mud, police are encouraging Mainers to take precautions and report any suspicious activity.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that State Police, Game Wardens, and Forest Rangers continue to search for Robert Burton, now charged with murder for the death of Stephanie Gebo. Today's search was aided by a Maine Forest Service helicopter and was concentrated in Monson, Guilford, and Parkman.

Burton's black Toyota Tacoma pickup was found along the Bridge Road in Parkman today. A second truck that Burton is suspected of taking Sunday afternoon from Herrick Construction in Guilford was also located, stuck in the mud, alongside the North Guilford Road in Monson.

State Police are advising area residents to lock their doors and vehicles and report any suspicious activity. Burton is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call State Police in Bangor at 973-3700, or 911 on a cell phone.

Burton has a long criminal history, with many convictions, including for kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. He's suspected of killing Gebo, whose body was found Friday morning by her children in her Parkman home.

In a now-chilling man-on-the-street moment, he was interviewed by WABI on May 13th, in connection with another death. Burton was one of two area residents who chatted with a reporter after 61-year-old David Grant was shot and killed by his son, who then attempted to kill himself. Burton is seen commenting 'It's a small town. Something like that happens, it shocks ya." He went on to say "It bothers a lot of people when stuff like that happens."
