After spending last season with the New England Patriots, Maine's Matt Mulligan has signed a free agent contract to play for the Chicago Bears.Mulligan had four starts and played in 15 games for the Patriots last season catching three passes for 22 yards and helping the team get to the AFC Championship game. This will be Mulligan's 7th season in the NFL after signing as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Dolphins following his UMaine career.

It's a one year deal for Mulligan who joins a roster that includes Martellus Bennett, Zach Miller, Fendi Onobun and Dante Rosario as other tight ends on the roster.
