A man from southern Maine is facing drug trafficking charges after police found cocaine in his shoes during a routine traffic stop.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 26-year-old Mason Soto's vehicle was stopped early Wednesday morning on the Maine Turnpike in Ogunquit. He was originally stopped for erratic driving, but Troopers arrested him on drug charges after finding 49 grams of cocaine in his shoes. The street value of the cocaine is $4,900.

Soto, of Biddeford, was charged with trafficking in cocaine and taken to the York County Jail. He's being held on $10,000 bail.
