A man who was clearing trees on his property is lucky to be alive after his tractor flipped over, pinning him underneath. He managed to use his cellphone to call for help but was trapped for hours before rescuers arrived.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says Kenneth Bragdon, age 42, was hauling trees behind his 1953 Farmall tractor Saturday afternoon when one of the trees became snagged on another, causing the tractor to flip over. Trooper Nathan Jamo said the chain being used to haul the logs was attached too high to the rear of the tractor, causing it to flip end over end.

Bragdon was trapped under the tractor for more than two hours in 15 degree temperatures until he was able to contact a family member by cell phone. The Greene Fire Department responded to the scene, freed Bragdon, and transported him to a waiting Lifeflight helicopter. He's being treated for internal injuries at Central Maine Medical Center.
