The extensive project is on schedule and work will be completed sometime in the Spring of 2019.

Phase Two of the MDI/Bar Harbor Route 3 reconstruction project is due to begin again soon, when the weather allows, and the Maine Department of Transportation along with Sargent Corporation will hold an open house a little over a week away.

MaineDOT's Rhobe Moulton stated in a press release, "The Open House is an opportunity for us to show project maps, share information about the work that will be done this year, to answer questions and to talk about what we accomplished last year."

The Open House will take place at the Bar Harbor Town Office at 93 Cottage Street, on Tuesday, March 13th, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m.

2018 work will include the reconstruction of Route 3 below Crooked Road into Bar Harbor to the end point at the intersection of Route 3 and Route 233. Two-way traffic will be maintained on Route 3 except when outbound traffic from Bar Harbor will be detoured to Eagle Lake Road and Route 102, or to Paradise Hill Road. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained.
